Hmm, I seem to have made a mistake with the numbering of my photographs. One number was missing and I assumed it was C. (C.) midas. I thought there was a cranidium and a librigena displayed, but now it seems that only the cranidium is C. (C.) midas. The librigena looks like your Cornuproetus and is described as Cornuproetus (C.) sp. which will really help you no further! :S
Anyway, I e-mailed you the description and pictures of C. (C.) midas, as well as the C. (C.) sp. that I think looks quite much like your specimen. I shall send you the article by H. Alberti as promised, which has many other Cornuproetinae described in it. Then you can compare it yourself.

: : : : : : : der wangenstachel deines Cornus sieht wirklich kurz aus; vielleicht zeigst du ihn noch mal in der frontalen Ansicht; den Cornuproetus "rhenanus" von Basse halte ich für einen normalen C. cornutus,die Viecher haben eine "Sollbruchstelle" am Mundsaum,dann sieht es manchmal so aus,daß es eine quasi konvexe Lippe wie beim Diademaproetus menzeni gibt.auf die länge der wangenstacheln als Artkriterium ist er nicht eingegangen ,vermutlich ,weil er kein Material hat,bzw es nicht weiß;am salmer kommt "unten links" in der wiese der "normale Cornutus" vor,oben rechts am Weg hingegen eine Variante mit deutlich längeren Wangenstacheln,die bis TH 10 reichen.ist schon länger bekannt,wurde aber nie veröffentlicht ( bis auf eine Bemerkung eines Sammlers ,ich glaube Höller in irgendeinem Artikel im " Fossilien" . jemand meinte mal zu mir,von der "Mitte" am salmer sogar noch einen dritten Cornu unterscheiden zu können,da will ich aber nichts zu sagen.
