Hello all,
I have got a 17 mm long specimen of some kind of Proetid trilobite from the Belgian Lower Eifelian. I initially thought it was a Gerastos but Ben pointed out to me that it may be some kind of Longiproetus or Dohmiella. The photo's in Basse's 2002 book are frustrating because there are mostly cranidia in there and his article in Fossilien (Heft 2/90) is not much better.
I think that it may be a Rhenocynproetus (?cultrijugati). There is evidence in the negative print of a sharp angle to a little (1 mm long) genal spine. I posted a link here with some photographs of the specimen.
